On May 22nd, a scientific research was published in the British Journal of Cancer, one of the most important periodicals in the field of Oncology in the World. The research approached the practice of physical activities during the teenage years related to the risk of colorectal adenoma, an established precursor of colorectal cancer.

This study is held by a group of Brazilian researchers, Professor José Eluf Neto, Titular professor of the Department of Preventive Medicine of the Medical School of the Universidade de São Paulo (FMUSP), Dr. Leandro Fórnias Machado Rezende also from FMUSP, and specialists from the United States, of the Harvard University.

The researcher Leandro Fórnias Machado Rezende declared to be satisfied with the high international impact publication and said: “the results obtained by the study can have important implications in the understanding of the causes of colorectal cancer and can contribute to the prevention and the control of the disease”.
