The Support Found Association to the Medical School of USP (FMUSP) – Endowment recently established as guidelines its Vision, Mission and Values. Besides, the Endowment Directors Board organized a head office where the administrative activities are located, conceived the visual identity, formed the Deliberative Council and constituted the first juridical statute.
The Endowment is a perpetual patrimonial found constituted by private individual donations, which makes financial applications with the gathered amount, reverses the interest gained in incentive to academic projects. Which is a reality and the main income source of renowned international universities.
In Brazil, a pioneering initiative in the Medical area was the creation of the Endowment FMUSP, coordinated by Graduation students of the Institution, with the support of the Academic Center Oswaldo Cruz (CAOC), in 2015. With a recent trajectory, some subsidiaries were granted, such as permanence overseas scholarships, innovation workshops in medicine e bloc with the Polytechnic School – USP and the support fo the Kids Save Lives.
The student Gustavo Rosa Gameiro, General-Director of the Endowment FMUSP, said the idea came by the demand of students, within the Academic Center, and later, was institutionalized. Gustavo said: “the Endowment was welcomed and received an indispensable support of the FMUSP Board of Directros, with the director at the time, Prof. Jose Otavio Costa Auler Jr and the executive director, Dr. Felipe Neme de Souza”. Gameiro completed: “it’s very nice being able to be in an excellence School and fulfill a dream, of doing something that generates shared value for the society”.
The Deliberative Council of the Endowment gathers members of the Board of Directors of FMUSP and the Clinical Directory of the Hospital das Clínicas, the Foundation Medical School and the Zerbini Foundation, of three University Extensions and some external professionals, with expertise in administration, who, along with the students, define the acting areas.
Another student, Matheus Belloni Torsani, integrant of the Board of Directors of the Support Found Association to FMUSP, declared: “I consider Endowment very important for the academy, because it is an instrument that helps the lack of resources”. Torsani added: “it’s amazing to have the opportunity of, at the same time, studying and being able to practice administrative management”.
