More than 50 years have passed since the students of the 59th class of Medicine at FMUSP joined the institution, but the proximity of that group seemed intact during the reunion ceremony that took place on September 16, 2022, in the Congregation Room of Faculty.
Leading the meeting, Prof. Tarcisio Eloy Pessoa de Barros Filho, of the class and current Director of FMUSP, expressed his gratitude for everyone's presence and dedicated part of his speech to update those present on the structural, physical and academic changes that the Faculty has undergone over these five years. decades. One of the highlights was the presence of the new course in Medical Physics, taught in partnership with the Institute of Physics at USP and which is in its first year.
Prof. Giovanni Guido Cerri, head of Radiology and Oncology Department, emphasized the contribution of Class 59 to the institution: “We had three Deans at the Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de São Paulo and we were one of the groups that contributed the most with Head Professors in the house.” He concludes by saying that he is happy to be reunited at the Faculty “which has done so much for the progress of health in the country”.
During the ceremony, many former students took the floor to express their views on the period of graduation, from sports competitions to the professional paths that followed graduation, always reinforcing the resolute ties with the institution.
