Prof. Linamara Rizzo Battistella, Sao Paulo State Secretary for the Rights of the Person with Disability and Titular of the Department of Legal Medicine, Medical Ethics, Social and Occupational Medicine of the University of São Paulo (FMUSP), was honored by the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, with the Brazilian Personality Award 2018, on November 12th.
Every year, the Chamber chooses institutions and personalities which practice and favor inclusion politics of people with disabilities, in Spain and Brazil, so they can be publicly recognized by their social contributions.
For Prof. Linamara, who is also president of the Director Board of the Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation of the Clínicas Hospital of HCFMUSP, which integrates the Lucy Montoro Rehabilitation Network, “this award is a result of the activities developed in the Secretary, in the Lucy Montoro Rehabilitation Network and at the Medical School of USP, which has been having an important role to instigate changes in the paradigm”. She completed: “it is very gratifying, a joy, to be recognized by things that had a positive impact in the society”.
