The Board of Director of the Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de São Paulo reports the death of Professor Emeritus Thales de Brito, at the age of 95, which occurred yesterday (09/26/2020), and addresses his deepest feelings to his family.
Graduated from the Universidade de São Paulo (USP) (1951 - class 34), Professor Thales de Brito did a PhD, was an Adjunct Professor and Titular Professor in Medicine at USP. He was Professor Emeritus of the USP, at the Instituto de Medicina Tropical (IMT). With experience in the field of Medicine, he had emphasis on Pathological Anatomy, acting mainly on the following thopics: pathology and leptospirosis immunopathology, schistosomiasis, paracoccidioidomycosis and immunopathology of infectious diseases in general.
Professor Thales de Brito was an example of dedication to Research, Teaching and Assistance in our Medical School and trained several generations of doctors and especially pathologists.
