Wagner F. Gattaz, Full Professor of Psychiatry at FMUSP and President of the Board of Directors of Institute of Psychiatry (IPq) at HCFMUSP, received formal praise from the Dean of the University of São Paulo (USP), Carlos Gilberto Carlotti Junior, for being part of the list of the 100 1,000 most influential scientists in the world, according to a survey by Stanford University, in the United States of America.
In his career, Prof. Gattaz served as Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Heidelberg, Germany, from 1983 to 1996, returning to Brazil in 1996, when he became Full Professor of Psychiatry at FMUSP and created the Neuroscience Laboratory (LIM 27) at IPq.
A member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences and the Academy of Sciences of Heidelberg, Germany, he has published more than 550 scientific papers and 6 international books, which have received more than 21,000 citations in the scientific literature. Its H index (H-Index) is 59. "This is a fair recognition of the excellence that characterizes the performance of its academic activities, a source of pride for our entire University", highlighted Carlos Gilberto Carlotti Junior.
