Professor Remo Susanna Junior, teacher of the FMUSP Ophthalmology Department, received, on November 22, the Medal of Legislative Merit in a formal sitting at the Ulysses Guimarães Plenary of the House of Representatives, Brasilia.
Created in 1983, the Medal of Legislative Merit recognizes authorities, personalities, institutions or social movements that have done important work related to the Legislative power or to Brazil. The choice for the winner is done by the members of the Board of Directors of the House of Representatives and by party leaders.
The medal was given to Professor Remo Susanna by the President of the House of Representatives, Rodrigo Maia, who emphasized “the ones honored with this medal write their names on the country’s history for the fulfilment of a work that caused repercussion and admiration from the Brazilian people”.
