With a two-day lecture schedule, the I Symposium Brazil X Japan of Vascular Neurology was opened on July 12th, at the FMUSP Theater with the participation of the FMUSP Director, Prof. Tarcisio Eloy Pessoa de Barros Filho, and the event coordinator Prof. Everbal Gadelha Figueiredo, head of the Neurology Department o FMUSP. The conferences took place on July 12th and 13th.

The special guest, considered one of the greatest neurosurgeons of Japan, Prof. Hirotoshi Sano, has given lectures on both days of the symposium. Member of several associations aimed at vascular neurosurgery, Hirotoshi Sano is vice-director and counselor of the Shinkawabashi Hospital Emeritus Professor Fujita Health University, of Japan.

The gathering counted on the presence of renowned specialists to talk about traditional and recent techniques of the several aspects involving vascular neurosurgery.
