The Extension Service for Patient Care (SEAP) HIV/Aids (Aids House) of the Infectious Diseases Division of the Hospital das Clínicas Central Institute of the Medical School of the Universidade de São Paulo (FMUSP) celebrated 25 years of its creation, in an event held on November 29th.

Prof. Esper Georges Kallás, coordinator of the Aids House and Titular Professor of the Infectious Diseases Department of FMUSP, said: “throughout these years the institution has been seeking to provide assistance to people who live with HIV/AIDS and under risk of infection, with specialized professionals and, thanks to an agreement with the State Health Secretary of São Paulo, it managed to expand its activities”.

At the FMUSP Theater, lectures were given, there was the register of memories of directors who have passed through the SEAP and a celebration to the pioneering current staff. There was also a visit to the Infectology Institute Emílio Ribas and the release of commemorative balloons. As part of the event, were FMUSP professors, doctors of the Hospital das Clínicas and representatives of the CRT/Aids of the State Health Secretary of DST/Aids of São Paulo, the Municipal DST/Aids Program of the PMSP and the HIV/Aids Ambulatory of UNIFESP.

“I hope the next 25 years can be crowned with success and we can increase our actions in assistance, prevention and research”, declared Prof. Esper Kallás.
