The Cooperation Network of Portuguese Language Medical Schools (CODEM-LP) is organized based on an initiative that seeks to integrate the capacity and academic scope of Portuguese Language Medical Schools along the lines of the ERASMUS Program, with renowned Portuguese-speaking Faculties of Medicine as members and facilitators, including our own Medical School of the University of São Paulo.

Seeking to strengthen international cooperation between such institutions and guided by the potential of human and scientific development to reduce social inequalities, this network is structured around the following programs:

- regular and advanced student exchange in undergraduate courses

- co-tutorship at the graduate/postgraduate levels and research with double degrees

- exchange and improvement of professors

- research and innovation with multilateral participation.

The network has the participation of 13 faculties in 5 different countries - in addition to those with which FMUSP already has important cooperation links, 6 federal Brazilian institutions (UFRJ, UFMG, UFRGS, UFC and UFBA), the Medical School of Ribeirão Preto (FMRP) and other international entities in Africa, Asia and Europe, all increase their level of dialogue and cooperation with it in an important step towards its progressive development and internationalization.

 AAHCI

The AAHCI (the Alliance of Academic Health Centers International) enables leaders of academic health centers and systems around the world to work collectively to advance health and well-being. It enhances the ability of its members to develop and innovate in the fields of health care, biomedical research, and the education of future health care professionals.

By working closely with the Alliance of Academic Health Centers in the United States, AAHCI is able to promote collaboration, cooperation, and partnership among academic health centers globally, providing members with enhanced access to a broader network, essential data, informative publications, and other valuable resources.

AAHCI Regional Offices like the one in FMUSP were established to bring together academic health centers and systems within specific regions and to promote activities, programs, and interests among current and prospective members, providing valuable insight on key issues and challenges in each region.
